Thank the American God it’s over. What we have now is One Nation Under God. It says so, right there, see? United States. United. Capital U. How can it be anything but united? Small u. Four years ago, I wrote an article about the US Elections. I said racism had...Continue reading→
Bric a brac
This page is the dumpster, the cavernous, faceless, identity-less posts that cannot be categorized easily into the other categories. They're not quite Travel, Food or Memoirs. They're not about Writing, they're certainly not Poetry or Fiction. Some are opinions pieces and right before I created this page they were tagged as "Opinion". However, not all of these are strictly opinions. Some are mere observations, others rants.
Anyway, here are all of those tired, unwashed and careworn denizens of this blog. I have to say some of these are not bad posts, it's just that they're like me; hard to define, or one could say, alphabetize, analyze, arrange, assort, brand, break down, catalogue, class, codify, distinguish, docket, file, grade, group, index, label, match, order, organize, peg, pigeonhole, regiment, segregate, sort, systematize, tabulate, tag, ticket, type, typecast. You get the general idea, right?
That's not to say I haven't tried categorising them. Just don't blame me if the category doesn't quite fit the slot..... In other words, I am blameless in this matter.
How to Watch Paint Dry ( and why you should )
Here we shall explore How To Watch Paint Dry and also Why It’s a Good Thing. Yes, it is. It is a good thing and in this article I shall explore in depth the concept behind the corner that you and I just painted ourselves into. What do I mean...Continue reading→
The Second Annual Birthmonth Festival
As you may remember, most of you very carefully and diligently ignored the First Annual Birthmonth Festival. Now here is your chance to do so again. Yes, there is a difference. The last time around your indifference lasted a whole month. This time around, given that the world’s collective attention span...Continue reading→
Evil Eyed Cherry
The other day I bought some cherries. Sunday, it was, yes, I remember well. I bought the cherries home and washed them and ate them and they were good. I also had occasion to visit a Bengali sweet shop and The Good Lady bought some kaancha chena. Literally translated it means...Continue reading→
Practically Witty
I wrote this poem for no reason For it’s really just the season. This poem is quite small and it’s very stupid and all. Tubetops, when they put these on you also get those bare knees on. You know this is really quite silly For I’m writing stuff willy nilly....Continue reading→
My Artistic Career
I just explored a new career possibility as a painter. Which should surprise you, no? So far, as you know, I have displayed no artistic ability at all. I’ve taken the odd photograph, yes, with a couple of photo essays. One was about spring and the other was about fall. I...Continue reading→
Shameless Flamboyance!
I didn’t see it coming. It was all coming along so well. It came as a bit of shock actually. But let me back track a bit and provide some backing track to the song of my life over the past few months. I used to write this blog fairly...Continue reading→
Why I talk to myself
I updated my blog recently. I don’t know that you noticed, so I am taking the logical way out and announcing it. So you know. Which you won’t if you don’t read my blog. But you are, because you’re here. You are here, right? I’m not just talking to myself?...Continue reading→
Rushin’ Retirement
I met this lady online who reads this blog. From all accounts, she loves the posts. With her birthday coming up, she requested that I write a post and dedicate it to her. For her birthday. Which is today. March 7th. Well, who am I to refuse a request for...Continue reading→
Daniels come to judgement!
We’re a judgemental lot, we are. I’m no sociologist, and far too lazy to research it, but it may be that making judgements is at the root of homo sapien’s instinct for survival. In the modern era, with the interweb weaving it’s magical tendrils all around us and enabling snappy...Continue reading→
