She Seeks
She Seeks is the fifth book of short stories in the “She” series. Written by women around the world from various backgrounds, this book explores the methods people use to “navigate a complex world”.
A desire to revisit the past, or nostalgia, is one aspect of this discovery process. Another is the investigation of a problem and the various solutions available, maybe even gain some self-realization for future growth and capabilities.
The SHE project’s main aim is to provide a creative platform for women’s voices and their reflections from daily lives. None of the authors come from a ‘purely literary’ background – and yet, as scientists, bankers, professors, engineers, managers and homemakers, they all have a story to share.

Yesterday Once More – by Dyuti Banerjee
Yesterday Once More deals with nostalgia and its place in our lives.
This is a story of self-reflection, of analysis, of the memories of our past and how those memories shape our view of the world.
This is a very descriptive story. We are placed solidly in the imagination of the protagonist. We can see, feel and understand the emotions on display. The author does a sterling job here, bringing into sharp focus the dueling demands of our desires and the present we live in. And by doing this, we make choices for the future. (Reminds me of a play I once read – or wrote – whichever is true…) The story telling is light, yet deep, reflective, yet insightful and we are left rooting for the future where we can fulfill our needs and desires. An excellent tale, and well told. I now need a beach vacation, I want a beach vacation, I desire a beach vacation!
The needs and wants are often in conflict in our lives. How often is someone able to balance them successfully?
I don’t know, but maybe you can tell me.
