Feature Presentation

The Art of the War Deal

Or EOW (Economics of War)

The stops,
And the starts,
And this war is an art,
Of pushing and pulling
And tearing apart.

The liquid,
And solid,
Of every human wealth,
To be accumulated,
By all means, by murder, by stealth.

The price to be paid
For the price to be set,
The barrels held hostage,
By greedy eyes and hands,
Avarice always, before real rage.

The ego that survives,
And the flesh that doesn’t,
And a thousand soldiers cried,
Their rueful sobs echoing,
In a school where innocence died.

The mind goes,
Where the heart fears to tread,
The message is repeated
To be understood and read.
In the business of battle,
For the human cattle,
The cost is too great,
Sans the salt and the bread.
