Uncommon Pie Reviews
The header says “Uncommon Pie Reviews”. Now, you might be wondering what this is going to be.
A collection of reviews? A review of the reviews? A review of that book called “Uncommon Pie”, or more correctly “Uncommon Pie & Other Stories”, subtitled “The SloWord Collection Vol 1.”
As a bit of a note, my main beta reader asked me whether there were going to be other volumes of The SloWord Collection”.
My response was a shrug and “You never know”.
And I don’t. Know. Not right now. I do know that I have a folder, a spreadsheet in that folder, a collection of unfinished work. Yeah, there’s 6 stories at various stages of completion, for about 10K words. There’s another 6 that haven’t been started, yet.
So yeah, you never know, “The Ring & Other Stories – The SloWord Collection Vol 2” may still make it to some sort of completion.
Meanwhile!
Back to the subject – Uncommon Pie Reviews
There is just one comment on Amazon, a 5-star rating. Other readers, (yes, there are other buyers), have been rather recall..recalcula…recalcre.. tardy, lazy or otherwise occupied. So much so, that Uncommon Pie Reviews have been rather, um… yeah. Uncommon, you know.
So, in the last 12 months
I’ve been traveling. I’ve been to 5 different countries, tramped through cities, walked through forests, driven to being stuck in narrow lanes in Europe, as I drove following Google Maps instructions.
Yep. I went to Spain, for the tapas, the Gaudi architecture, the monasteries, the Arabian palaces and gardens, caves, beaches, bull rings.
I went to Slovenia, as a start off point, walking through the capital city of Ljubljana. I went to Croatia, to walk through national parks, Adriatic coastal towns, the tourist trap that is Dubrovnik. And then Italy, seeing ancient towns, James Bond movie bridges, southern Adriatic villages.
I’ve also been driven around, sitting comfortably in the back seat for a change, through hills and valleys full of tea and coffee and spices in Kerala, India.
The SloWord Fan Club meet
I started the Indian trip with a meeting with the Fan Club, Kolkata Chapter. Now, there may be fans, but there ain’t actually no Fan Club, AFAIK. It was a great way to again meet old friends that I knew in real life, meet old friends I had never met in real life for the first time and some new ones, who hadn’t known me much in real or social media life. I enjoyed this thoroughly.
Now, back to the Uncommon Pie Reviews
I argued with the voices in my head about how to jog comments and feedback from people on “Uncommon Pie & Other Stories – The SloWord Collection Vol 1”.
I experimented with this, that, this and some other thing.
Finally, I decided on this poll, hoping it makes things easier for people.
The Poll
If you could just help me here, I’d be very appreciative. This poll will, hopefully, be easy, accessible and sufficiently anonymous.
Please! And Thank you!
PS: There’s a small treat after the poll!
